"BENAGRES" BRAND IDENTITY

identity direction
for BENAGRES PORCELANATO(china)
year 2025

Benagres Porcellanato is a China-based porcelain tile brand, its name drawn from its general manager's own name, Ben. Starting from that given name, we develop the brand's complete visual identity from the ground up. The logomark is built around a single geometric grid, and it carries a deliberate double reading: the grid's proportions are drawn directly from the brand's own tile formats — 300×300mm, 600×600mm, and 600×1200mm — turning the mark into a literal diagram of the product line itself, while the same arrangement of blocks also reads as an abstraction of the letters B, E, N, and A. The wordmark pairs a solid-weight "BENA" with a lighter-weight "GRES," underscored by the "Porcellanato" designation, and the full system is built out across a colour palette of deep navy, sage green, and magenta, with the mark rendered as a flexible one-colour lockup against each. We extend the identity across a full application system — business cards, letterhead and presentation folders, product packaging, and branded merchandise including tote bags and apparel. The identity has been fully adopted and is in use.

Scope: logomark design and dual conceptual rationale (tile-format grid and B-E-N-A letterform), colour system, typography and wordmark lockup, and application system design across stationery, packaging, and merchandise. (The name "Benagres" is drawn from the client's general manager's own name and was not coined by our team.)

"LAKEN" PRODUCT BROCHURE

Laken is a stone-inspired series we develop for Benagres, its name given by the brand's founder, drawn from his own travels to Interlaken, an alpine territory in the Swiss Alps comprising a chain of valleys ringed by mountains. Working from that starting point, we translate the alpine setting into the collection's visual identity: darker, more striking veinal patterns that echo the rugged character of the landscape, opened on a cover framing a partial vista of Interlaken's snow-covered mountain range. We carry the same visual language through the collection's ambience photography, curating imagery that reflects the alpine aesthetic throughout. The brochure has been fully adopted and used as part of Benagres' product literature.

Scope: cover concept and Interlaken photography curation, translation of the alpine setting into the collection's visual and material character, ambience photography curation, and full brochure layout and copywriting. (The collection name "Laken" — drawn from Interlaken — reflects the founder's own travel experience and was not coined by our team.)

Naples is a stone-inspired series we develop for Benagres, its name given by the brand's founder following his own travels through the Naples region — Napule in the local Neapolitan dialect. We translate that personal experience into the collection's material character, capturing what the founder saw as the essence of the region in a range of basaltine tiles marked by fine, bristle-brush vein structures. The cover opens on a sweeping view of the rugged Mediterranean coastline just outside Naples, and we curate the ambience photography throughout to reflect the same coastal, historic mood. The brochure has been fully adopted and used as part of Benagres' product literature.

Scope: cover concept and Mediterranean coastal photography curation, translation of the Naples travel experience into the collection's material and visual character, ambience photography curation, and full brochure layout and copywriting.
(The collection name "Naples" reflects the founder's own travel experience and was not coined by our team.)

"BELLS" PRODUCT BROCHURE

Bells is a stone-inspired series we develop for Benagres, its name given by the brand's founder as a homage to Bells Beach in Victoria, Australia — a renowned surfing coastline he visited on his travels. We translate that coastal setting into the collection's palette, selecting a range of deep, neutral tones drawn from the beach's own colouring. The cover opens on an aerial view of Bells Beach framed within an overlaid device, setting the ambience mood carried through the rest of the brochure, where we curate imagery throughout to reconnect the collection back to the coastal sense of place. The brochure has been fully adopted and used as part of Benagres' product literature.

Scope: cover concept and Bells Beach aerial photography curation, translation of the coastal setting into the collection's tonal palette, ambience photography curation, and full brochure layout and copywriting.
(The collection name "Bells" reflects the founder's own travel experience and was not coined by our team.)
