"BOTTEGA" IDENTITY

identity design & direction
for  BOTTEGA - Gres Porcelanato (Malaysia)
year 2017

Bottega is a sub-brand we name and develop for Gres Porcelanato, built on the company's core strength in tile-cutting technology to establish a dedicated line specialising in customised cut-tile design. We coin the name itself — Italian for "workshop" — to reflect the bespoke, hand-crafted character of the cutting work behind each piece. The identity we design carries that same sense of craft: the logo plays with an abstract arrangement of geometric lines overlapped with a bold B-shaped form, rendered in a luscious pink tone range. We also develop an alternate secondary logo, carrying the same B-shaped outline and geometric line play, set either against a round pink base or standing independently. The identity has been fully adopted and is in use.

Scope: sub-brand naming and conceptual rationale (Bottega — "workshop," reflecting the customised cutting craft), primary and secondary logomark design, and colour system. (No unattributed elements — the name and identity design are original to our team.)

"REDISCOVERING THE BEAUTY OF CEMENT" BOOKLET

promotional booklet
for  GUSB - Gres Porcelanato (Malaysia)
year 2021

Rediscovering the Beauty of Cement is a promotional booklet we develop for GUSB's fibre cement board range, built around a tagline we write to reposition cement away from its purely industrial associations. We open the cover on a domestic, lifestyle scene — a woman in linen, coffee cup in hand, framed against a curtain and a raw cement-textured wall — using the softness of everyday living to draw out the material's overlooked elegance. Carrying that repositioning through the booklet's application sections, we curate architectural photography of minimalist, raw-concrete buildings — courtyards, cladded facades, and quiet interior spaces — to illustrate the cladding application in real architectural settings, paired with the product's technical specifications. The booklet has been fully adopted and used as part of GUSB's product literature.

Scope: tagline copywriting ("Rediscovering the Beauty of Cement"), cover concept and lifestyle photography direction, architectural photography curation for application sections, and full booklet layout and design. (Technical specifications — thickness, edge type, and dimensions — were supplied by the manufacturer/factory and were not authored by our team.)
